Mono Conversion Techniques by David Lowe ARPS DPAGB

I have be interested in photography since I was at school, learning to develop film and print in the school darkroom. I switched to digital around 2004 and now all of my pictures are produced digitally with many hours spent in front of the computer screen. I have been a member of Smethwick Photographic Society for over 40 years and have been President of the club twice in that time. I have also been a member of the London Salon of Photography for the last 10 years and I was Chairman of the Salon for two years. Although I produce both colour and black & white images my passion is for monochrome prints as these, for me, have a stronger visual impact on the viewer. Although I am happy taking pictures of anything my interests generally centre around three subjects, Sport, Architecture and Fine Art Nudes. I was awarded an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society for a panel of art nude prints in 2007. I was also awarded a Distinction from the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain in 2009. I am sponsored by Permajet and regularly make presentations for their Academy
