Your are allowed to submit only one image only per category. Your image must be sized to 1024 pixels wide by 768 pixels high. They need to be submitted as JPEG files (Not Tiffs) and be in RGB Mode for screen display (Not CMYK). If the image proportions do not fit 1024 x 768 format, size the image to either the width (for a horizontal image) or the height (for a vertical image) and if possible fill in the blank areas with colour, as if you were "mounting" a print.
Entries should ideally be e-mailed directly to the competition organiser. See the next section for details of who to send your e-mail to. Please do not provide your entry on CD or e-mail it to the Club President!
Important!
There are some specific instructions that must be followed if your entry is to be successfully processed. Please read these carefully.
- The Subject line of your e-mail
The subject of your e-mail should be made up as follows:
SPS - Theme Title - Picture Title
For example, if you are providing a picture called "Fallen Oak" for entry into the "Dead Trees" theme, your subject would be:
SPS - Dead Trees - Fallen Oak
- The Filename of your image
Make sure that the file name is the same as the picture title or, if the title is too long, consists of the first 4 words of the title, followed by your membership number and NO other numbers or text, i.e.:
Fallen Oak 95.jpg
- The Body of your e-mail
Please also include your Name and Membership No in the body of the e-mail.
- Attach your image to the e-mail!
It's really easy to miss, but please remember to attach your image to the e-mail before sending it.
Lastly, please do not use the theme title as the title for your image!
This is not helpful to the organiser. Remember, the judge does not see anything except the picture. You are used to giving pictures titles, so why should this competition be any different?
