A challenge to capture the bleakness of dozens of abandoned and derelict small boats.
Full of character, these small boats present lots of opportunities to try as many photographic techniques as you like: go for detail or the big picture? How about monochrome or something arty? Whatever you choose, make the most of it because moves are in hand to clear away these wrecks.
Meet at the Yot Cafe, 12 Banks Road, Heswall, Wirral, CH60 9JS in time for a 10.30am departure. There is a car park nearby, also in Banks Road (for 'what3words' users: ///transmitted.decay.invite ).
The tide will be well on the way out at the start with low tide just after noon. Surfaces are uneven so sturdy footwear is recommended and, if the ground is wet, a pair of wellies would be in order. Also, follow any Covid 19 measures that remain in place. Do not come if you have any Covid symptoms in the preceding days and notify NHS Track and Trace if you feel unwell afterwards, advising them to contact the organiser (Jane Holmes - 07787 194269).
There isn't a dedicated website but googling 'Heswall Boats' will bring up images and some information.
