Monday, December 5th, we have a presentation from Chris Upton entitled 'Thoresby Colliery'. Before that on Saturday December 3rd we have a photo-trip to Ellesmere and on Sunday December 4th a photowalk around Shrewsbury town centre. For full details click in the 'photo-trips' panel.

The time period for the second 'Set Subject' is nearly over. You have only until today, December 5t, to produce an image that exemplifies "Wind". A new 'Set Subject' will be drawn tonight. Full details are in the 'competitions' panel. Be sure to read the rules and to mark the closing date in your diary!

Please take time to click on the ‘programme’ panel to see what else we’re up to and also on the ‘news’ panel for all other society updates and recent announcements. For information of a wider nature that may also be of interest to our membership please visit the 'announcements' panel.

Most importantly, join us at 7.30pm on Monday nights at our new home, the Hermitage Centre behind Belle Vue Methodist Church, here in Shrewsbury.

If you need to know how to find the Hermitage Centre and for details of available car parking click on 'Attending a Meeting' in the 'information' panel. Everyone is welcome!

Next Week

Thoresby was the last pit in Nottinghamshire and its closure brought to an end hundreds of years of mining in the county. Prior to it closing Chris Upton spent nine months documenting the site, the buildings and the people and has created an archive of images recording the pit in its final days.
